The Oscars are pretty much the pinnacle of red carpet beauty. Not only is it Hollywood’s biggest night of the year, but it’s also the busiest night for any glam squad on the West Coast. Stars pulled out all the stops for award’s season’s big finale by embracing bright colors and shimmering details whether it was a gown or a tux. And while most tended to stick to more natural, yet utterly elegant, hair and makeup, there were plenty of bold beauty looks that everyone will want to copy.
Aside from the sparkling style on the red carpet, The Time’s Up and #MeToo movements were still going strong, as stars and Harvey Weinstein accusers Ashley Judd, Annabella Sciorra, and Salma Hayek took to the stage to introduce a montage of the year’s nominees rallying for continued inclusion in the industry. Something that Frances McDormand took to heart and shined a spotlight on during her best actress Oscar acceptance speech, asking all of the female nominees (regardless of category) to stand up, calling upon industry execs to not only meet with them but to finance their future projects, and concluding with two words: inclusion rider. Plus, there was also a slew of stars who shifted their focus from sexual harassment to gun control, sporting orange ribbons in support of the Parkland shooting victims in the fight to change federal gun laws (although states and individual retailers are making more strides.
And with the night’s mix of glamor, grit, and girl power, I wanted to share the details on the some of the most eye-catching beauty looks stars rocked on the red carpet, just in case you want to give them a try for any of your upcoming spring socials.

Tiffany Haddish — The Girl’s Trip star glittered on the red carpet, and it wasn’t just the gorgeous, traditional Eritrean gown she wore in honor of her late father. Hairstylist Precious Jackson swept the star’s strands into a high updo with help fromSchwarzkopf’s Osis+ Magic Finish Anti-Fizz Shine Serum, allowing her bangs to hang loose up front and let her headpiece take center stage. Makeup artist Dionne Wynn then went in with an all-Glossier glam look, using the brand’s signature clear Boy Brow, Haloscope, and a little Cloud Paint in Dusk and Puff on the cheeks. And she introduced its new Lidstar shadows, applying Herb on the lid and Moon to brighten up the inner corner to ensure she shined along with the rest of her look.

Sandra Bullock — Excuse me, that’s not Cher? The Ocean’s Eight star seemed to channel the dance diva thanks to her pin-straight strands and super-sharp center part. She kept the drama going from her glittering gown to her lids with a bronzy smoky eye with loads of lashes and liner finish befitting of a possible Practical Magic reboot that fans are now fanning the flames for after Bullock reunited with Nicole Kidman on the red carpet. But a pale glossy lip is all it takes to bring the whole look into balance and polish off one of the sultriest looks of the night.

Andra Day — All eyes were on Andra as soon as she stepped, or rather draped, herself on the red carpet in a floral Zac Posen gown. Tony Medina brushed her hair into an updo that allowed the length of her locks to hang loose in the back and then dotted the whole look with pieces of pale pink baby’s breath. After prepping Day’s skin with a slew of La Mer skincare, makeup artist Porsche Cooper used the brand’s Soft Fluid Longwear Foundation in Honey to even out her skin tone and a mix of Amber + Dusk to contour. Cooper played with the pinks in the dress by sweeping a darkened dusty rose shadow for a fresh take on a spring smoky eye and adding a matching glossy lip color to complete the look. If you’re looking to match Day’s red carpet manicure, try the same NCLA Gelous polish in Rodeo Drive Royalty that Kait Mosh used on Sunday night.
